2022 FESTIVAL ARCHIVE

Beverley Puppet Festival returned live-in person and bigger than ever in 2022 for our 10th year. 41 puppet companies from around the UK (and one visiting company from Slovakia) descended on Beverley for our largest ever festival across 15th-17th July 2022.

Giants squids, huge spiders and a live-sized inflatable whale delighted audiences in their thousands on the streets of the town and at the Flemingate Centre. Magical hidden worlds were revealed to visitors in the Beverley Friary Gardens once again with suitcase theatre, marionettes and an automata installation. Beverley's indoor venues were packed with shows for adults, teens, kids and families.

2022 saw the reintroduction of the Puppet Trail, which featured puppets in 12 shop windows / public buildings for visitors to find. We also ran 4 engagement projects with this festival edition which included taking work into care homes, schools, nurseries and engaging local residents in outdoor arts.
